چکیده
Abstract The performances of expanded clay aggregate and wood ash as internal curing water reservoirs were studied in the mortar phase a hypothetical high performance concrete with low water-to-binder ratio. two materials substituted 15 30% sand volume. Two different binders, Portland cement high-volume fly blended cement, used. compressive strength volume stability mortars sealed air-drying conditions studied. Furthermore, desorption capacity humidity inside during first days after casting analysed. results shown that reduction self-desiccation shrinkage was higher when used, even conditions, due to its low-relative-humidity environments comparison ash. However, had stronger beneficial effect on early age autogenous without significantly increasing drying shrinkage. alternative aggregates influenced moderately. Considering technical, economic, environmental implications using lightweight aggregates, is recommended.

internal curing of high strength self consolidating concrete by saturated lightweight aggregate - effects on material properties
self-desiccation is the major source of autogenous shrinkage and crack formation in low water-binder ratio (w/b) concretes which can be reduced by internal curing. in this paper performance of high strength self consolidating concrete (hs-scc) with w/b of 0.28 and 0.33 including autogenous shrinkage, drying shrinkage, compressive strength, and resistance to freezing-thawing was investigated. th...

The study presents the behaviour of wood ash / OPC concrete. Chemical analysis of wood ash, bulk density, sieve analysis and specific gravity of wood ash and aggregates, consistency, setting time and slump test of the fresh paste were conducted to determine the suitability of the materials for concrete making. Mix ratio of 1:2:4 and percentage replacement level of 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 percents ...
متن کاملHigh performance of treated and washed MSWI bottom ash granulates as natural aggregate replacement within earth-moist concrete.
Municipal solid waste incineration bottom ash was treated with specially designed dry and wet treatment processes, obtaining high quality bottom ash granulate fractions (BGF) suitable for up to 100% replacement of natural gravel in concrete. The wet treatment (using only water for separating and washing) significantly lowers the leaching of e.g. chloride and sulfate, heavy metals (antimony, mol...
متن کاملInternal Curing with Crushed Returned Concrete Aggregates
High performance concrete (HPC) requires a low water-to-cementitious materials mass ratio (w/cm), often with the inclusion of supplemental cementitious materials such as silica fume in the mixture, thus necessitating the use of a superplasticizer. Because of the low w/cm and rapid reaction at early ages, proper curing from the earliest time possible is very essential in HPC. Internal curing has...
متن کاملExtending service life of high performance concrete bridge decks with internal curing
High performance concrete (HPC) bridge decks are prone to premature cracking if movement is restrained. Internal curing (IC) can reduce shrinkage cracking in concrete structures, thus improving their performance and service life. However, there is very limited information available in the literature on the possible extension of service life due to internal curing. This paper addresses this ques...
